About Chatham Botanicals

Master gardener and digital artist, John Poignand, presents selected prints from his extensive collection of botanicals grown in his very own Chatham gardens.

Poignand’s strikingly lush portraits are limited edition giclées, digitally produced to reveal an intimate almost 3D view of each flower's particular beauty. Sparing no expense in the creation of his art, Poignand prints on only the highest quality, acid-free paper and canvases, using archival ink to ensure long life and color precision. Each limited edition Giclée is signed and numbered. Each image may also be produced on decorative tiles as a large bathroom/spa mural or kitchen back splash. Unique one of a kind murals combining flowers and or vegetables and fruit may be requested.

The blue hydrangea, a favorite that flourishes in this seaside town, is presented in several different views. Among his other specimens are peonies, roses, dahlias, lilies and three of his favorites in large format prints: a southern magnolia, a dahlia and a stewartia. The unique beauty of each subject is captured through John’s masterful craft. Set against a sharp black background, the gorgeous natural coloration of each selection is heightened, allowing a very life-like, three-dimensional quality, quite breathtaking to behold.

Born in Yorkshire, England, where his passion for nature was inspired, John emigrated to the States in 48. John has lived in various parts of New England for the past 60 years. After retiring from the international business community in 1997, he now enjoys Chatham full-time, tending his gardens and creating. John has been accepted into a wide range of juried fine art shows including Boca Raton, where he won first prize for mixed media,the prestigious Philadelphia Flower show where he received an honorable mention, Columbus art Festival, Winterthur Garden Show in Delaware and, of course Chatham festival of arts.
